FOREWORD

This project was shot entirely on an HP Photosmart M23: a pocket-sized, completely automatic, digital point and shoot camera from 2004. The camera was gifted to me as a child by my late grandmother, who recognized my love for photography at an early age. It sat in a drawer for years until I rediscovered it during a move, and knew I had to put it to good use in honor of my grandma.

With 3 whole megapixels and essentially 0 manual controls, the camera mode for a fairly difficult and frustrating photo-making experience. I often found myself ready to throw it off one of the many buildings I climbed this summer, but it stayed in my pocket day after day and night after night. I guess it really is just like they always say, the best camera is the one you have with you.
